My name is Jill Stern, and my eclectic background has taught me that a day of work never has to feel like work if you simply do what you love!

I earned a BA in English Literature from Kansas State University in 2009 and an MS from San Jose State University in Library and Information Science in 2013. 

After working in academic and public libraries throughout the midwest over the following decade, family needs and a desire for professional growth pushed me to take the plunge and start my own business. In 2022 I obtained a specialized certificate in Copyediting from the University of California, San Diego and launched Stern Editing. 

Since then, I have worked as a writing coach and editor for the students at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and, more recently, as a contract copyeditor with Flatpage Editorial and Publishing Agency's Bloomberg project team, consulting with cultural partners all over the world in the publication of their museum content on the free Bloomberg Connects app.

I'm a mother of three young, busy kiddos, the wife of an engineer (whose professional documents I often edit), and an avid animal lover, competitive swimmer, and art enthusiast.
